In the first half of this year, the Ministry of Education issued the "Record and Approval Results of Undergraduate Majors in Ordinary Colleges and Universities in 2022", and decided to cancel 925 undergraduate majors, and the number of cancelled majors reached a record high. In March, the Ministry of Education and other five departments issued the "Reform Plan for Adjustment and Optimization of Discipline and Specialty Settings in General Higher Education" to make arrangements for adjusting and optimizing the discipline and specialty settings in higher education.
